In Jackson, Mississippi, BancorpSouth and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) awarded the Voice of Calvary Ministries, Inc. (VOCM) with a $280,000 grant to further empower the VOCM’s Dream Builders Program. The grant will help the Dream Builders Program rehabilitate 28 foreclosed or vacant homes and resell them to income-qualified homebuyers. Low- and middle-income individuals and first-time homebuyers will be greatly helped by the grant, as the money will help the DBP to provide these qualified individuals with homebuyer education courses and down payment and closing cost assistance. The grant and Dream Builders Program ultimately hopes to reinvest in and reinvigorate neighborhoods and communities.
