In June 2011, the New Partners for Community Revitalization released a report “The Brownfield Opportunity Areas Program: Smart Investment Laying the Groundwork for Economic Development” that revealed the BOA has already boosted economic development and job creation across the state of New York and is expected to continue to such growth. In the document, the NPCR found that New York’s $34 million investment in 110 BOA projects will create from 30,000 to 50,000 jobs across rural, suburban, and urban areas of the state.
